Holidays came and went but my rant mode is back with full vengeance.
I think I mentioned my sort of "want to transfer" thing-y on my last post. The thing is, I haven't really told my TL that I was interested in the vacant job but guess what, I'm getting it anyway! See, I was nominated for a supposedly part-time role of local system support and my new boss is going to be somebody from Singapore. I figured it was like my last nomination, this is going to be a project that will only take few email reminders and will last for only a few weeks. But no - my new MNG said it'll be a full blown full time position in the new future... like this coming February. When I mentioned that to my current bosses, they urgently made a follow up to my new boss (I think they were in denial and shock) and asked for more time before they fully hand me over. I really haven't talked with my current bosses about benefits and all that stuff but MCM was pestering me to treat them to food or something.
Since my new role hasn't truly sink in, I was still wondering what would become of my status in this company. Funny thing is, I have the lowest position among my new colleagues in that new role and I have no training whatsoever with the end-to-end process of our work flow that's needed. If my current bosses actually thought of it and knew of the eventual full-time position, I think they will think twice before nominating me without asking first. Not that I am grateful but handing me to the dragons without proper arms is called suicide.
On the light side, my holidays are great (aside from that PMS mode I had before New Year's eve, but that's another story)! We spend Christmas like we used to (gift-giving and a party on the 25th, videoke nights and HanaKimi J-drama marathon since the 24th) and my family (that includes all on-vacation-Catholic relatives with us) went to mass together. I do believe that everyone dress their best during Christmas time and I think my sister and I puzzled people when we wore the matching dresses my mom bought for us (we looked like twins!). It was the first time in 10 years that I wore a dress again voluntarily.
New Year's Eve was a blast literally, as my Tito and Tita brought boxes of piccolo (heck, we didn't know it was "bawal" until it was announced in the news on the 31st); my guy cousins had their preferred firecrackers and lots of it too. We girls whipped out lusis and Roman candles and had an impromptu dance program for all (yes, I danced to Paris Hilton' Stars are Blind and Madonna's Like a Virgin for Alessa's sake). For our Noche Buena and Media Noche we had spaghetti, assorted types of soup, turbong manok and crispy pata - yum! Pounds and credit card bills were piling in as fast as we get emails at work.
So there goes my holiday and post-holiday activities for the year 2007-2008. Belated greetings to all!
P.S. I can access my Friendster account now. Hahaha!
