Downtime

We're practically not doing anything today.

About 10AM, our booking systmen lagged and we cannot update our records for the incoming request. On top of that, we're having space problems on vessels. Although we can justify why our working turntime is waaay out of the limitation (IT have confirmed system slow response), what else can you say to the customers pestering us for their requests but, "Regret to inform you but we are experiencing system problems. Please get back to us tomorrow" or something like that but with an empathetic tone (something we learned in training). Well, out of the 4 of us CS agents, only one can do her work but still with a 50% slower response rate because of this lag. So much for for trained "world-class customer service agents". Growr...

My Tita called me earlier about a neighbor's ambush. That's right, ambush. Not really within our compund but the person is a distant relative and his house is just right behind ours. She said he was in critical condition; someone gunned him this morning in his place of work. I can practically imagine the scandal that will ensue but my Tita is really worried that we might be dragged into some clan fight, especially when the ambushed relative's land is a point of interest by a lot of people. I don't actually know if that's scarier than Glorietta 2 bombing.

I guess builing a fence around our house is the top priorty for this Christmas.

P.S. I'm currently reading Mr. Az's updates on his Gaijin Smash (Outpost Nine Editorials) site (link somewhere in this blog). Positive to relieve boredom and scramble logic out of your brains.

Scary Day

I must admit, this day is quite frightening.

First, I got an SMS from my sister that our father has been in a motorcycle accident. I was never a fan of the said two-wheeler machine but it gets my Tata to wherever he wants to be. Now the time we all dread happened. He's in the hospital but will be out by tomorrow (24hr-confinement is required to be able to avail of the company's health benefits). My sister said he got scratches and bumps on his upper left extremities (she's a nursing student) but he'll be fine.

I think I wasn't over the shock because my Tita called and ask numerous details of which I cannot answer because I wasn't able to ask my sister in return. I won't be able to come home because our team will have a training in Tagaytay this weekend and won't be back until Sunday. I was just glad that I was allowed to file for VL this 30-31 Oct so I will have approximately 1 week of vacation next next week.

Second, a bomb went off in Glorietta. My boss just came back after lunch and told us of what happened. It's already 4PM and I'm sure by now it's all over the news. My Tita called me again and warned me not to go to any Ayala Malls 'cause usually if a bomb went off, there'll be a twin planted in the same area. My friend from HS, Jhat, called my mobile and asked how I was. She said she was worried because my workplace was in Ayala. If my face knows how to blush, it would from sheer gratitude.

Edit: Photos

I do hope nothing bad or unwanted will happen this weekend and I pray everyone will be alright. I haven't had a bad experience in such a long time.

(Tata's motorcycle collided with a dog. I dunno if its in a vet clinic though.)
